Valentine Heartbreak for Women Workers!
Heartbreaking news on Valentines Day after an inside report that
President Duterte will veto the 105-day Maternity Leave Law. This is proof of
how a heartless leader value women today. It is consistent with how he
negatively viewed ordinary women, including working women in contrast with how
he cared much about the welfare of Imelda, Imee, Gloria and Sara.
At stake is the health & welfare of mothers to be & future
babies. Malacañang, ECOP, SSS & DBM have connived against women's right to
increased maternity benefits and infants right to quality maternal care.
Partido Manggagawa Partylist, women's groups, labor organizations &
unions will continue to assert the signing of the law. Protest actions are now
being planned against Duterte’s veto. ###
